A's: RF Ryan Raburn - $2,000,000 (2015) OF Eric Young Jr. $500,000 (2015) SP John Lackey $2,000,000 (2015)resign candidate RP Fernando Rodney $5,000,000 (2015 NTC)possible resign candidate RP Jose Veras $8,000,000 (2015) 1B Brandon Allen $300,000 (2015) You may add Lackey and Rodney to the pool. $15 mil over 3 years is too much in my mind for an old pitcher who only has 2 years, at best, left in him. As a side note, the Tab could have cited a variety of reasons why the resign offer was too low, but Phil Hughes contract was a pretty poor comp point. He was a full 10 years younger when resigned and he was likely overpaid based on his history. There is no reason to point to Hughes as a resign floor unless you want to establish a rule citing what it is. I'm ok with you rejecting the deal, I only would have resigned him at a very reasonable amount. Just some feedback that you may want to consider establishing rules with resign floors if you have those in mind, the idea of which I'd support. Also, this should probably be clarified in the resign rule section: You may offer the player what you want, but there is one thing to remember: Pay cuts ARE allowed. For anybody over the age of 35, a pay raise would require good reason, as would a pay raise for somebody who struggled the previous year. Lackey's was actually an increase of his salary, so the above contradicts what played out.
