Re-Sign Post:
Last Contact: $21,000,000 (2015) First Offer: 3 Years @ $8,500,000
Reasoning:
it would be odd for me not to resign this player he is still one of the best players right now, however he is getting old and now plays first base. He was signed at $21,000,000 but that was when he was contending for triple crowns and year in year out MVP. I believe $8,500,000 is a evaluation seeing that he will be 35 in his final year of this contract.

Veto #1. This is a little too low, even considering his age. Even with a 6 week injury last year, Miggy was a top 10 1B. He has no past history of major injury and has exceeded 600PA every year of his career. He looks like the type of player that will keep on hitting as long as he likes and can transition to DH for Tigers if ever needed. There may be some decline as he ages, but his floor over the next 3 years is basically a top 10 1B, and he should have no trouble exceeding that most years, even at 32-35yo. I'm looking at Encarnacion and Votto re-signs as comps. Both re-signed at 30-32 age range, on longer contracts, and more money: 4-5 years @ $10.5m and $12m.

Agreed with White Sox. Miggy needs to be in the double digit millions.
