Previous Contract: David Robertson, RP $460,450 (2014)

New Offer: 5 years @ $6,500,000

I had a hard time finding a comparable closer because while he's one of the better 9th inning guys in the league, he's not an elite closer in the mold of Craig Kimbrel, Greg Holland or even Aroldis Chapman. He's going to rack up the strikeouts, but his ERA is merely average. His WHIP is also average, but again, not elite.

That being said, he'll still be good for about 35 saves or so a year, so this would pay him a good amount while carrying this contract into his age-35 season

RP aren't often re-signed so tough to find good comps. Perkins is probably the most similar and re-signed for $6m. In FA, Hawkins signed for $9m last year (one year deal though). If he remains a closer (which he's definitely getting paid like with his new $46m, 4 year deal) he'll be a lock for 35-40 saves a year with good K/9. So I don't see a reason to deny this one.

I think there's still an error on your roster. Added up 2015 salary and I'm getting 62,100,500. Should have plenty of room for this, but please check that out. Maybe I fat fingered the calculator.
