White Sox trade: 2019 FYPD pick - Round 2 (Tampa Bay's) -acquired in Khris Davis trade Michael Chavis, 3B/1B (BOS) -acquired in Moncada trade
Red Sox trade: Christian Villanueva, 3B, SD -acquired in that Perez/Lindor/Villanueva trade
White Sox accept. We were originally discussing another player and ended up here. White Sox have almost no bats for the bench, so this will improve our starting lineup and bench. There's enough evidence over the last two seasons that it appears Villanueva's bat might be for real and I'll take a shot that he keeps it up enough to hold off Spangenberg. A top 100 spec and 2nd rounder are a high price to pay, but I think that it's worth the price for a potentially very impactful bat. Chavis is probably a year or two off at this point, but probably has a higher ceiling long term and due to his prospect status will get plenty of opportunity eventually. But I needed a bat now, so I think the price is worth the risk. And I have plenty of 1B and 3B options now, so hopefully won't need the depth as much. Thanks for the smooth negotiations Red Sox.

All acquisitions listed check out. I think Villanueva may actually be getting sold cheap and this could be a steal for the White Sox. Chavis is also a very good prospect, but he is blocked a bit in Boston with that talented roster. The 2nd definitely helps. I would've asked for a 1st if I was Boston But Villanueva is still very early in his career and we've seen fast starts come crashing down, so who knows. Approve 1-0
