Cade Horton | P| Oklahoma (CHC)

Bryce Jarvis, RHP (Diamondbacks)
Sam Bachman,
Daylen Lile, OF
Reggie Crawford | P | UConn (SF)
Andry Lara, RHP
5) Alec Hansen, RHP
Logan Tanner | C | Mississippi State (CIN)
6) Nick Neidert, RHP (Mariners)
7) Connor Scott, OF (Marlins)
8) Steele Walker, OF ((White Sox)
9) Keoni Cavaco, SS/3B
9) Luis Garcia, 2B
10) Tim Cate, LHP
11) Yasel Antuna, 3B
12) Israel Pineda, C
13) Telmito Agustin, OF
14) Jose Sanchez, SS
15) Gage Canning, OF
10) A.J. Cole, RHP, Grade B+. I really believe in his upside. Needs to build stamina and refine his changeup, but if it comes together he could be a Top 20 pitching prospect next year, perhaps more.(Oakland)
11) Ian Clarkin, LHP, Grade B/Borderline B-: About to turn 20, posted 3.21 ERA with 71/22 K/BB in 71 innings in Low-A, good control of low-90s fastball, curve, change-up, new cutter. Good pitchability, mid-rotation upside depending on stamina.
12) Matt Skole, 3B, Grade B: No one ever doubted his power and he showed better pure hitting skills than expected. His glove isn't terrible but with Ryan Zimmerman ahead of him, Skole is bound for first base and I expect him to be a productive power/patience slugger, though don't expect batting titles.
13) DJ Stewart, OF (Orioles)
14) Chris Betts, C
15) Drew Ellis, 3B
16) Landon Leach, RHP (Twins)
6) Alex Meyer, RHP, Grade B: I respect his upside as a guy with two dominating pitches, but his command is still a work in progress, and such tall pitchers often struggle to keep their mechanics in line. Could be a superior starter, a closer, or a failure. (Minnesota)
9) Nolan Fontana, SS, Grade B-: Walks walks walks walks. And solid defense too. We'll have to see if the rest of his bat holds up.
11) Austin Voth, RHP, Grade C+: Age 22, posted 2.77 ERA with 133/38 K/BB in 127 innings, 89 hits between Low-A, High-A, Double-A. Scouts don’t like him as much as the numbers, seeing a back-end starter with an 88-93 MPH fastball and decent but not excellent slider and change-up. Pitchability adds to the package, however, and he could surprise the doubters.
12) Rafael Bautista, OF, Grade C+: Age 21, hit .290/.341/.382 with 69 steals in 487 at-bats in Low-A. Very fast, athletic but lacks big power potential and needs more polish on defense, often projected as a fourth outfielder. Something of a strange case, normally scouts drool over athletic speed players like this. He’s not too old for his levels but is often overlooked.
12) Kent Emmanuel, LHP
12) Matt Purke, LHP, Grade C+: Another injured pitcher, this one with bursitis that required shoulder surgery, supposed to be OK by spring. He hasn't been the same since 2010 freshman season at Texas Christian, but perhaps the surgery will restore his previous 91-95 MPH fastball, slider, and changeup.
13) Jeff Gelalich, OF, Grade C+: UCLA star with speed and power didn't hit in the Pioneer League. Was this because of a hand injury, or because of a hitch in his swing that some scouts detected in college? I guess we'll find out.
14) Chris Marrero, 1B, Grade C+: Didn't seize control of first base job when he had an opportunity, and suffered a hamstring injury in winter ball. Still only 23 years old, production has never quite matched potential, but there is still a chance it will.
15) Eury Perez, OF, Grade C+: Speed demon, very fast, 80 speed on the 20-80 scouting scale. Hits for average but is extremely impatient, resulting in very few walks and OBPs that are very dependent on his batting average. That's OK if he's hitting .300, but not if he's hitting .270.
17) Zach Walters, INF, Grade C+: Good throwing arm, has some pop, performed very well in Double-A (.293/.326/.518) and adequately in Triple-A (.269/.304/.399). Utility profile.
19) Brett Mooneyham, LHP, Grade C+: Erratic Stanford product posted 2.55 ERA in NY-P, but with just 29 strikeouts in 42 innings. Live arm, mechanical difficulties held him back in college. A challenge for the coaching staff but he has upside.
20) Estarlin Martinez, OF, Grade C+: 20 year old Dominican has had problems finding a position but has a promising bat. An outfielder now, he hit .319/.385/.455 in the pitching-oriented NY-P and is a breakout candidate for 2013.
21) Carlos Rivero, 3B, Grade C+: Borderline C. Forgotten prospect from Indians and Phillies system went from obscure waiver claim to strong Triple-A performer and 40-man roster spot, hit .303/.347/.435, followed by an excellent winter in Venezuela. Good glove at third base, still just 24 years old. Could be nice utility guy for someone.
16) Raudy Read, C, Grade C+: Age 21, another catcher with sound defensive skills and a good arm, hit .281/.332/.462 in the New York-Penn League, greatly improved over his rookie ball production. Another candidate to leap the list.
17) Spencer "There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering" Kieboom, C, Grade C+: Age 23, Clemson product had excellent year in Low-A, .309/.352/.500 in 330 at-bats. His defense has always been highly-rated but nobody thought he could hit like this. Can he keep it up? Maybe.
18) Tony Renda, 2B, Grade C+: Age 23, hit .307/.381/.377 with 19 steals but zero homers in High-A. Stereotyped scrappy second base type, contact hitter, very reliable at second base but lacks the tools to play shortstop. Double-A will tell us a lot.
19) Chris Bostick, 2B, Grade C+: Age 21, acquired in trade with Rangers, hit .251/.322/.412 with 11 homers, 24 steals, 47 walks, 116 strikeouts in 495 at-bats in High-A. Needs to tighten up defense as well as strike zone, but could become a multi-category contributor if he can handle Double-A.
24) Brandon Miller, OF, Grade C: Hit .292/.354/.549 in NY-P with some of the best raw power in the 2012 draft class, but Samford product has a big swing, is impatient, and already 23.
25) Corey Brown, OF, Grade C: Old prospect at age 27, but has always had tools including left-handed power, good speed, defense, and some walks. Excessive strikeouts have held him back, but could be good fourth outfielder.
26) Dan Rosenbaum, LHP, Grade C+: Nice sinker from the left side, good breaking ball, changeup coming along, has very quietly built a strong statistical history. Possible back-of-rotation starter or useful relief option in a year or two.
28) Dave Freitas, C, Grade C+: Borderline C. Draws tons of walks, has some power, not great at nailing runners but doesn't give up many passed balls or errors. We need to see him higher than the Sally League, but an interesting player.
29) Rick Hague, INF, Grade C: Season lost due to injury. Should hit for average with some power, position questionable.
30) Jason Martinson, SS, Grade C: Draws walks, hits for power, steals bases, but strikes out a lot and needs to show skills higher than Sally League.
