Approval #1. Hopefully Segura returns to form this year. But there's a couple decent prospects to make up for loss of Longoria as well.

Veto #1
Longoria to me is worth more than Cecchini and Rondon
Guthrie for Dietrich is a slight edge to Guthrie.
Segura for Jennings is a wash.
Longoria for Rondon and Cecchini is a huge edge IMO to Longoria

rock spelled it out pretty well, I'm gonna piggyback his denial. If Segura hadn't taken a huge dive production-wise this year, it would be quite a bit closer, but as of right now, I don't see it that way.

Before the final vote is cast I would like to chime in. Two active owners negotiated and agreed to a deal that we feel helps our team out moving forward. Kelsi and I had quite a bit of dialogue around the framework of this and settled on what you see here. I see that Tigers and Yanks disagree on value, and that is fine, but the point remains that two very active owners agree that this helps our teams move forward.

I am aware that i am banking on future production of these guys opposed to current value with the players im giving up. But looking at my farm system I need to make sure that i can sustain production and i believe that these players can. I would rather get future assets for players i may not be able to keep after next season and hope for the best. Im going with the Patriot Motto that its better to sell too soon than too late. Both of those specs are top 10 in their respective systems (Red Sox has a top system overall), Segura has the chance to bounce back and be productive again, and Guthrie is a serviceable starter to add to my rotation.
I feel like i should explain why i accepted this deal because I did not state that when i accepted.

Just wanted to explain part of my reasoning for my approval. Before voting on this trade, I looked at the Rays current roster and his re-sign situation. His team has a lot of very good players with contracts that are due to expire in either 2015 or 2016. I could see how any available re-sign could be used on others besides Longoria as those other players are of re-sign caliber also. Given that situation I can see how a player like Segura fits his team better because of his 2017 contract. The 2 prospects are the same. They will be cost controlled and not be in the glut of expiring contracts he has. To me, it seemed like a good deal based on his team's current situation.
Given how a team like the "open" Orioles shortsighted that team where he has almost an entire expiring pitching staff after this year, I liked the Rays plan as to preparing his team not only this year but years ahead also.

Segure was pretty good as a rookie when he was an all-star batting .294/.329 12 HR 49 RBI 44 SB before struggling last year .248/.289 5 HR 31 RBI 20 SB. If he can get back to his 2013 form he is a fine addition.
Garin Cecchini made his ML debut last year getting into 11 GMs (31 ABs) after hitting .263/.341 7 HR 57 RBI 11 SB at Triple-A. Garin Cecchini was a pre-season top 100 in 2014.
Desmond Jennings to me is a bit overrated.
2012 .246/.314 13 HR 47 RBI 31 SB 2013 .252/.334 14 HR 54 RBI 20 SB 2014 .244/.319 10 HR 36 RBI 15 SB
Longoria is on a great contract for the next 2-yrs.
Based on Rays roster construction I think that Segura/Rondon for Longoria while not great is not vetoable.
Cecchino for Jennings is probably a wash with a slight edge to Jennings who has a ML job but has under-performed his hype.
Guthrie for Dietrich is okay, backend SP for a decent INFer.
APPROVAL #3 (3-2)
