Screw it, I'll take the chance that he doesn't lose the season. I need a LF, and while there's a good chance he loses the year, it's a risk I'm willing to take, he's certainly an upgrade over Bernadina in left.

Not 100% sure Hamilton can be waived:
1. Waivers – any player except Franchised players can be put on waivers.

LF Josh Hamilton $14,000,000 (2015) Resign waived Denied Following rule applies: 1. Waivers – any player except Franchised players can be put on waivers. However, if the intent is just to clear a roster spot, since the rules don't specifically forbid a re-sign player from being able to freely be put in the paid minors under the free offseason moves rule, a team can put a re-signed player in their paid minors right now. Once the season starts, the only way to demote a re-signed player is with a waiver pass.
