Want to re-sign for 3 years at 9,500,000 which I believe makes him the highest paid Catcher in the league.
Buster Posey 9,500,000 (2018) (NTC for 2016)
Previous Contract was 300,000 (2015)

The per year is close if this was a 5 year contract, but at only three years I think his value is quite a bit more than this. There's almost no risk of him moving to 1B in the short term, and Posey is by far the best C in the league at this point leading pretty much all stat categories consistently. This would only make him the highest paid catcher on per year basis by $500k/yr, but is a deal two years shorter than the previous high of $9m/yr for 5yrs. The best comp is McCann's re-sign as he is an offense producing C, and was re-signed after his age 29 season and he got $9m for 5 years. Other catcher comps are Montero at $7.5m and Weiters & Molina at $8m.
I'm mostly basing my judgement off of McCann's deal since both produce above average offensively at the time of re-signing with Posey still being a better producer in most categories and over more AB/season. If Posey is signed to a 5 year deal, I could accept around $10m, but at only 3 years its going to need to be higher.

ok--second attempt 3 years @ 12.0 per year Buster Posey 12,000,000 (2018) (NTC for 2016) He will be by far the highest paid Catcher per year until age 31. After that he will be ripe to switch from Catcher to 1B where his value will be diminished. I will veto this deal as well. Posey is as good as they come at catcher and deserves to be paid as such. I don't feel this accomplishes that. Let's get a new thread rolling
