Last contract: $500,000 (2015)
Status: Released by Phillies 6/17/2014, hasn't pitched in affiliated baseball since.
Red Sox is offering a 2 year contract worth $35,000 a year for Mr. Camp to become our low-A Greenville Drive team's color commentary man. With an additional 2 years $40,000 mutual option at the end of that contract.
Mr. Camp has spend significant time in his career in the AL and AL East. While he has never played for the Red Sox organization, our players and staff has had very positive interactions with Mr. Camp throughout his career. Many think Mr. Camp is full of charm and will make for a great radio or TV personality going forward.
We believe this offer is fair due to the financial restraint of lower minor league teams. Most teams only has part time radio personality. We are offering a full time wage and possibly a stepping stone for Mr. Camp's post playing career.

Not even technically a valid offer so not even going to pretend to vote.

This is about 20% light for a color commentator. I don't care if it is Low A.

I would like to see some side benefits thrown in this deal, such as free meals on work days and such.

Approval #1. There's a lot of risk here, an unproven color commentator could be terrible and lower the team's moral, thereby hindering the development of Red Sox entire minor league system. But if he works out, he may inspire their prospects, creating a lot of value. With Vin Scully comp of roughly $800k, $40k seems about right for Chump, I mean Camp.

I'm going to veto again.
1. As I said before, 35k for an announcer is high, so 38k is also high in my opinion. 2. What is the free meal coupon for? I'm pretty sure all the press guys get food catered for them every game, so why do they need that? 3. $20 in spending money on the road? What are you, Bill Gates?

I'll approve the new offer. $3,000, tickets and a meal plan puts it over the top.
