Veto #1
Reasons:
I just compared Castro's last season and career numbers to Neil Walker who was jus re-signed here for 5.6M. The numbers are R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS which are our scoring categories here. The numbers are somewhat close. Walker could have the edge if Castro's SB total stays in decline. But to even up any edge I'd give to Walker is the age difference as Walker is now 30 and Castro is 25. Re-signs to me are more of putting one team's re-sign here in line with a similar signing another owner signed his player for. Just want to keep a level playing field for everyone and not charge one more than the other.

I hate to nitpick this one, but I do think this is just a little too low to approve. He's worth ~$1M more. His stats compare well with Walkers, both of them leading in some categories over a similar ~3500 career AB, the difference being Starlin has been a regular since he was 20 and hasn't even entered his prime yet. Whereas Walkers similar stats included most of his prime years. I think the age and room for more growth balance out any difference in stats.

Yeah, Castro still has decent potential where he is worth more than this
