Halos send: SS - Marcus Semien - OAK - (2019) $300,000 SP - Matt Shoemaker - ANA - (2019) - $300,000
Braves send: 2016 FYPD 1.19 (Nolan Jones 3B Holy Ghost Prep (Bensalem, PA)) Abrahan Gutierrez – C – (2016 INTL sign) Yunior Severino – SS – (2016 INTL sign) Yenci Pena – 3B – (2016 INTL sign) Joaquin Benoit (SEA) $4,000,000 (2016) Chad Billingsley (CIN) SP $500,000 (2016) Marlon Byrd (CLE) LF/RF $5,600,000 (2016) Brandon Beachy (ATL) SP $416,500 (2016)
Halos have a targeted player in mind and really like the International signs of the Braves. The other pieces are salary take on to make the trade work from the Braves side.

Braves accept.
I was able to get the one guy I wanted in the draft so I am dealing my other pick to help me out now. I really like Semien and Shoemaker.

This one completely baffles me from Angels side. Semien is a pretty good SS, rough BA and OBP but makes up for it with his power+speed combo and only 25yo. Shoemaker is an ok back of the rotation arm, 4ish ERA and a K/IP-ish. Both have 3.5 years left on their cheap contracts. Seems like an awful lot to give up for 3x 16 year olds and the 19th pick. All the rest are completely useless expiring contracts - side note, I'm not sure why taking on salary was necessary when only trading $600k salary. Angels is already getting the short end of the stick IMO, taking on another $10M of salary this year seems crazy. But both teams have lots of cap space so I guess it doesn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things.
It's so hard to judge what will happen with these international signings though and what will happen with that pick. Maybe in a few years this trade looks good for Angels. Plus this reminds me of my Beede for Wood/Singleton trade - which looks much different now than it did then. Both owners have been with the league for a long time though, so I'll trust they have their own plans and vote to Approve.

Lol. I would approve it Even though I was trying to make deals for pretty much everything on both sides of this deal. Hopefully another TAB can approve as this pick is on the clock.

If this isn't approved in the next hour or so I will make Angels pick for him and replace the pick in the deal with the player picked so that he doesn't get skipped.

He also told me who he wants to draft as his proxy as he is now out of the country.

My approval still stands, as long as Angels confirms that's who he wanted and is ok with the revised trade.
