Padres trade:
1B Tommy Joseph $300,000 (2021)
LF/CF Mallex Smith $300,000 (2021)

Giants trade:
CF Mitch Haniger
LHP Andrew Suarez
LHP Adalberto Mejia

Padres accept. I had a surplus of 1B/OF on my roster, and while I was only looking to trade one of my 1B or OF's, the fact that I am getting Haniger back helps alleviate that. I like all three prospects I am receiving and believe they can all help make my team a little younger and competitive for an even longer time period!

Giants accept. If Meija was still on the Giants I probably don't make this trade, as is, there's a good chance he'll break camp this year as a Starter for Minnesota. The attractiveness of both Meija and Suarez are their floors, but I do have a number of pitching prospects that are in the same range so I'm trading from a position of depth. I like Haniger as well, but he is a bit older and the move to Seattle does hurt his value somewhat so I felt I could move him.

Tommy gives me a 1B in the near future and could contribute down the road. I'm high on Mallex, and have faith that he'll evolve into a top of the order speedster. At the very least he should contribute as a strong side of a platoon steals source.
