Comparing the approved re-sign of Seager this year to Hosmer. (I am not comparing Freeman because his year last year was a career year and better than Hosmer's in every category except RBI's. I think that year has thrown off his re-sign contract value in comparison to Hosmer.)
Over the three previous years they have been about equal taking into account all categories. Hosmer is 2 years younger but also plays 1B, which I believe is a much easier position to fill.
