A's agree to trade:
3b Josh Donaldson $300,000 (2017)
2017 2nd round draft pick
to Braves for:
Todd Frazier (CHW) 3B $300,000 (2017)
Ian Kinsler (DET) 2B $8,000,000 (2017) ((RE-SIGN))
Brad Miller (TB) SS $300,000 (2018)
A's fill 2 major holes with this deal at 2B and SS while still maintaining a power bat at 3B. Our available salary would not likely have filled these spots in FA with players of this caliber, and we feel Frazier is a very solid option to replace Donaldson at 3B.

Braves accept.
With the reds trading dat dude BP it should open up 2B for peraza. And I currently have semien at SS so losing Miller is OK. So I'm dealing from two positions of depth to upgrade to Donaldson.

For this year, I think Frazier+Kinsler+Miller is probably more valuable. That's a lot of good production at some tough to fill positions. But Donaldson is definitely an upgrade over Frazier and one of the best 3B in the game. And given team context Braves seem to have the depth to spare. So I can see the value for both sides. Approval #3
