Orioles offer Chris Davis a 3 year contract @ $11.0M AAS total $33M
2014 $13M 2015 $12M 2916 $8M
$11,000,000 (2014 NTC)(2016)
Although he had a great year (and he did)He really does not have a track record showing that he is capable of duplicating his breakout season. This offer rewards Davis for his breakout year both in the immediate future by the biggest year up front and a large contract overall for only 3 years allowing free agency while still young. It allows for Orioles to make moves to be competitive. Davis recently resigned with Orioles for $10.35M so AAS is higher as well as 1st year being higher

Denied
Either more years or higher annual salary. Davis is worth more the 33 million over 3 years.

Correct format would be $11,000,000 (2014 ntc)(2016)

Davis did have a rough 2nd half of the season.
Pre AS BA - .315 Post AS BA - .245
Pre AS HR - 35 Post AS HR - 18
ops .250 lower in the 2nd half
For 3yrs this is good for me.

On only a 3-yr deal I am looking for a little more. If this was a 4 or 5-yr deal I would approve $11-11.5 but on only a 3-yr I need more money per year. I think it was a good first offer but I just think the # of years is not enough Davis is only 27 entering his prime years.
Denied #2 (1-2)
