The White Sox and Halos have agreed to the trade below:
White Sox get:
Jered Weaver - (2016) $14,000,000
RP - Andrew Miller - (2016) $1,000,000

Halos get:
Cory Luebke (SD - SP).....$415,000 (2016)
Hector Santiago (LAA - SP/RP).....$300,000 (2017)
Ryan Dempster (BOS - SP).....$9,100,000 (2014)
Marcus Semien, SS/2B Prospect 69 MLB AB's (20XX)
Chris Bostick, SS/2B Prospect

The Halos have been trying to move Weaver to free up some cap space long term. I am able to accomplish that with this deal and get some guys to fill Weavers innings. I know Luebke is getting TJ and will miss 2014, but I still like his skill set and I am optimistic that he will get back to form in 2015. I am a fan of Semien and Bostick and see them as solid depth in my system, and Semien can contribute this season bounching all over the field for the White Sox.

White Sox accept.

I never like giving up young players with good contracts but needed to upgrade one of my SP spots. I was counting on Luebke and/or Holland filling in the middle of my rotation but with both now injured for parts of or the whole season, I don't want to risk FA and needed a dependable starter. Thanks for the smooth talks.

Rangers GM (Pete): I didn't think of it until now, maybe a shorter resign should cost more annually since the commitment and risk is less. Which is usually true in real life. Just a thought to consider next time we review rules. Feb 5, 2023 12:43:38 GMT -6
