The Nationals have definitely been playing with a patchwork roster so far this year. Yet, they have a record above .500 and are currently 9 games out of the playoffs. However, I don't think any of the guys he's acquiring are real difference makers, so if he does want to compete, I would like to see him make more bold moves. At the same time, he isn't trading away any difference makers, so I don't see anything too controversial in the trade. Overall, Nationals is acquiring 9 contract years whereas Braves is acquiring 8 contract years. I will say that those 8 contract years that Braves is acquiring is probably more valuable as they are concentrated in only two players in case one of them breaks out. With that, I don't see anything too controversial in this trade and it should be a low impact trade as it currently stands
