Rangers give: Jayson Werth $2,000,000 (2018)
Indians give: DD pick #11 (on the clock) Chandler Ferguson P Indians 2017 draft James Karinchak P 2017 draft
I need cheap contract OF help for this year, and have some other good pitchers in my minors so I felt it was worth it for me.
It's currently my DD pick so if Rangers doesn't see this in time I'm fine with him declining...I lagged on responding to the trade discussion. My bad!

Rangers agree. I was looking to pick up a DD pick as a flier. Jayson Werth was a good cheap FA signing for me last year and helped me out in the beginning of the season until he got hurt. With Joyce, Conforto and hopefully Brinson as pieces in my outfield I don't really have much need for him, so I would rather take the DD pick and a pair of late round draft guys as fliers, hoping one of them adds value down the road.
Thanks for the quick and easy talks and good luck that Werth signs somewhere favorable.

I think this isn't a very good move for Cleveland. 3 prospects (including the pick) for a 38 year old FA outfielder. I myself am skeptical that Werth will actually end up playing anywhere this season. And if he does, it will likely be in a very limited role. Partly because of the logjam of FAs right now.
That said, none of the prospects are a sure thing by any means, so don't feel the trade is in need of being declined. I do think Ferguson has some nice upside potential.
