Brewers Trade:Ryan Braun $6M (2020)(2021X) Brett Gardner $9M (2018) 2018 FYPD 3rd Round pick Indians Trade:Yandy Diaz $300K (2022) Foster Griffin (prospect) Greg Allen (prospect) 2018 FYPD 2nd Round pick How they were acquired:Braun: ?? I can not find how he got his current contract Gradner: Won in FA themajorsleague.freeforums.net/thread/974/brett-gardner-000-2018-brewersDiaz: IFA signing by Cleveland Indians Griffin: Drafted by Indians in 2014 FYPD 2.7 themajorsleague.freeforums.net/thread/326/2014-fypd-draft-completedGreg Allen: Drafted by Indians in 6th Round of the 2014 MLB FYPD Rationale:
I personally don't see this team competing this year with a complete lack of pitching. This deal allows me to get some solid prospects back in Griffin and Allen, they are a little older but should hopefully be a little closer to the Majors. I also get Diaz who while lacking true playing time will also be my only 3B on an active roster (since Barney just got cut). This along with a second round pick were enough value for me to give up two very productive veterans. I also have to give up my 3rd Round pick to get this done which I don't like as a rebuilding team but the Indians needed it as insurance or this deal wasn't going to get done. As a side note I appreciated negotiating with the Indians, they were always cordial and open to discussing any type of deal regardless of times when we disagreed. Thanks for being a great trade partner! Good luck this year.

Indians accept
Thanks for posting and all the player research, BrewCrew, was great working with you on the deal.
I'm more in "win now" mode with an aging roster and a couple key pieces already on 2018 contracts. Had a huge hole at CF which Gardner fills. Braun scares me in terms of injury history but he's on a pretty decent contract so I'm willing to take the risk for possible upside production.
Don't like giving up 3 younger guys but I don't see any turning into superstars, more likely solid contributors, so I'm good with losing them to greatly boost my 2018 hitting.

Approve #1, maybe Joey will know where to look for the history on Braun.

I think Brauns contract was an original. There are only a few left I think with options like that.
Approve. 2-0
