Rays send Michael Taylor 2,500,000(2024)
Dbacks send Kristian Robinson (real life Dbacks pick) Blaze Alexander (real life Dbacks pick) Tim Tawa (real life Dbacks pick)
Rays accept. Taylor had the best year of his career last year. Still wasn’t anything amazing, but got some SBs and regular playing time. Should see that again this year. Robinson is a nice prospect. Alexander is along shot maybe as a depth IF. Tawa is just a guy I like but not really on any radar right now. Dbacks asked and was super easy discussions.

Confirm. Acquiring a contract-friendly CF that should be able to give me some AB,s (mainly because of his defensive ability) & a little bit of production which is more than I have at that position now. Sent a package of prospects from my deep prospect pool that some of which should crack the bigs in the future.

The 2nd and 3rd piece to this deal make sense to me. However, including a top 100 level prospect for a player who at his best performed like a 4th OF seems like an overpay to me. Robinson hasn't played for a couple seasons due to some legal issues but recent articles suggest that he should be back in action for the 2022 season.

Thought about this a lot and this seems to be an overpay for Michael Taylor whose "career year" was still just .244/.653 12 HR 54 RBI 14 SB.
Yes Kristian Robinson has had some off-the-field issues but he was still #2 DBacks Spec last year with a FG grade of 55. MLB Pipeline had him #8 DBacks Spec (50 Grade). Robinson even with the 2 misses seasons is only 21.
Baseball America Pre-2020 #74 Pre-2021 #93
Major League Baseball Pre-2020 #43 Pre-2021 #55
Baseball Prospectus Pre-2019 #100 Pre-2020 #16 Pre-2021 #15
Plenty of upside in Robinson who remains very young with plenty of upside.
Blaze Alexander was #20 by MLB (45) and #36 by FG (35+).
Tam was a 2021 11th Rd pick by ARI.
