1. Lottery for draft
* Recently real life MLB implemented a draft lottery involving the non-playoff teams. The top 6 picks would be determined via lottery instead of record. This would help us curtail some tanking issues potentially.
- A. Yes - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, Rangers, DBacks, Guardians, Cardinals, Padres, Mariners, Phillies, Twins, A's, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Mets, Reds, Yankees, Nationals, Brewers (20)
- B. No - Orioles, Pirates, Tigers, Blue Jays, Braves, Dodgers (6)
-- 2023 (Current Draft) - DBacks, Guardians, A's, Rangers, Angels, Rays, Reds (7)
-- 2024 (Next Year) - Rockies, Cardinals, Padres, Twins, Royals, Mariners, Marlins, Red Sox, Yankees, Brewers, Phillies (11)
Need To Select Year: Mets, Nationals
2. Changes To IR
* This has continued to be a reoccurring issue for teams and honestly I am not sure why. You get a 2 day buffer period as it is to make a move to get a guy off IL yet some teams leaving guys on their beyond affecting not only them but their opponent and potentially the rest of the league via standings.
* IR Buffer
- I-A. 2 Days (Current Rule) - Padres, Twins, Red Sox (3)
- I-B. 3 Days - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, Rangers, DBacks, Guardians, Cardinals, Orioles, Pirates, Mariners, Phillies, Tigers, A's, Blue Jays, Angels, Rays, Mets, Reds, Yankees, Nationals, Braves, Brewers, Dodgers (23)
* IR Enforcement
- II-A. Make Roster Illegal (Current Rule) - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, Rangers, DBacks, Cardinals, Pirates, Mariners, Phillies, Tigers, Twins, A's, Blue Jays, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Mets, Reds, Yankees, Nationals, Braves, Brewers, Dodgers (23)
- II-B. Lock All Transactions - Guardians, Orioles, Padres (3)
* Penalty
- III-A. No Additional Penalty Just 0 for each day illegal - Cardinals, A's, Blue Jays, Brewers (4)
- III-B. Use Waiver Pass to demote automatically by TAB if not posted by GM (or Waive of player left on IL too long if out of waiver passes.)
* i. With Warning First - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, Rangers, DBacks, Orioles, Padres, Pirates, Mariners, Phillies, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Mets, Reds, Yankees, Nationals, Braves, Dodgers (19)
* ii. No Warning First
- III-C. Draft Pick Penalty (like dropping a spot for each time found in violation) - Guardians, Tigers, Twins (3)
3. Minors -- Have Until April 15th before penalties begin
* this continues to be an issue and if I have to come up with some kind of draft penalty for teams to have better minors it will be considered. Everyone at bare minimum should have some kind of draft history as well as players gained/lost.
* Updated Version of rule we already have that has gone without much enforcement. Will get 1 warning first then go to strikes. This will be part of roster check so if you think your not in compliance you should get on it.
Strike 1:
$1 mil cap hit WILL BE APPLIED TO NEXT YEAR.
Strike 2:
$2 mil cap hit WILL BE APPLIED TO NEXT YEAR.
Strike 3:
Frozen from making any transactions until its done (trades, promotion/demotion, waivers).
That means if you have to be told twice to update it that is $3 mil in cap hits for next year which will be kept on spreadsheet.
Example Of Expectation

Minor Leagues - themajorsleague.freeforums.net/thread/81/colorado-rockies-minors
You need at least 1 of these but wouldn't hurt to have both and they must be maintained.
For this one you need to post "Acknowledge"
Acknowledge - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, Rangers, DBacks, Guardians, Cardinals, Orioles, Padres, Pirates, Mariners, Phillies, Tigers, Twins, A's, Blue Jays, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Mets, Reds, Yankees, Nationals, Braves, Brewers, Dodgers (26)
4. Expanded Playoffs (discussion) - this is much more complex than yes or no.
* If we were to expand playoffs adding another round that would mean we would likely have to add some type of double matchup week in order to maintain our current balanced schedules. Currently we have 4 schedules that were created for our league that we rotate each year.
- A. Yes - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, DBacks, Orioles, Padres, Mariners, Phillies (changed vote via discord), Twins, A's, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Mets, Yankees, Nationals, Brewers (17)
- B. No - Rangers, Guardians, Cardinals, Pirates, Tigers, Blue Jays, Reds, Braves, Dodgers (9)
5. All-Star Week: Short Vs Long
* We have always done short all-star week but if we wanted to make it a long all-star week it would be similar to expanded playoffs which would likely require a double week somewhere (likely at start of year or in middle of year but not final week of season). We generally do a long first week then the World Series can also go longer than 7 days depending on when the season ends.
- A. Short (What we have done) - Royals, DBacks, Mariners, Tigers, Blue Jays, Mets, Reds, Nationals, Brewers (9)
- B. Long (Would likely Require Some Multi-Matchup Weeks) - Rockies, Marlins, Rangers, Guardians, Cardinals, Orioles, Padres, Pirates, Phillies, Twins, A's, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Yankee, Braves, Dodgers (17)
6. Opening Day Roster - What you have listed on OPENING DAY on fantrax is what will be marked on spreadsheet as your opening day roster this includes players on IL so if you do not want those guys listed as being on IL on roster page spreadsheet PUT THEM IN MINORS otherwise once they come off IL you will have to make a roster move to create a roster spot for them or demote them via normal channels (waivers, waiver pass or rookie rule). This also goes for guys who you want in paid minors not on roster page they need to be put in minors (if they qualify) BEFORE opening day they are not allowed to be freely moved after opening day NO EXCEPTION.

7. World Series End Date.
- A. Until End of Regular Season (what we currently use) - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, Rangers, DBacks, Guardians, Cardinals, Orioles, Padres, Pirates, Mariners, Tigers, Twins, A's, Blue Jays, Angels, Red Sox, Mets, Reds, Yankees, Nationals, Braves, Brewers, Dodgers (24)
- B. No Longer Than 7 Days - Phillies, Rays (2)
8. Playoff Roster
- A. Yes - Rockies, Royals, Marlins, Rangers, DBacks, Guardians, Cardinals, Orioles, Pirates, Tigers, Angels, Red Sox, Mets, Reds, Nationals (15)
- B. No - Padres, Mariners, Phillies, Twins, A's, Blue Jays, Rays, Yankees, Braves, Brewers, Dodgers (11)
Set 26-Man Roster Each Round (No Additions/Subtractions Unless Players Are Injured With Documentation)
**Each Playoff Round Teams will be asked to set their "26-Man" Rosters. These can be made up of anyone on your current roster, in paid minors or in your minor league system even if not called up (they would need to be properly called up then placed on roster before deadline).
**If a player suffers an injury please provide some information stating that said player is out weeks/season or whatever.
- An MRI taken Tuesday on Anthony Rizzo's lower back revealed a muscle strain. Cubs manager Rick Renteria acknowledged to reporters Tuesday that Rizzo would be placed on the 10-day disabled list if rosters hadn't expanded.
- Carlos Gomez will likely miss a couple weeks due to his wrist injury, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports.
- Starlin Castro will be sidelined for at least four weeks after an MRI revealed a high left ankle sprain.
- Anyone removed due to injury must sit out the next series. Thus if you replace someone in the Division Series they are not eligible to be re-added until the World Series. If you remove a guy in the Championship Series due to injury, they are done for the playoffs.
