Rockies Trade:OF Yanquiel Fernandez (COL) - www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=fernan001yanC/1B Hunter Goodman (COL) - www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=goodma000hunGuardians Trade:RF/LF/1B Nolan Jones - $300,000 (2028) This is a trade that in the future I could regret but my team is in the midst of a playoff push and we need some more thunder especially in OF/UT where we are currently using Trent Grisham and Brendon Doyle while waiting on Trevor Story to help my hitting.
Fernandez is the one I think I could regret the most he has received some Yordan Alvarez comps. Goodman is a guy with some big time power but questions about what position he fits long-term C, 1B, OF or maybe just a DH guy. But you have to give something to get something so here we are.

I accept. I am in a play off run also, but I don’t think I am currently strong enough to win the entire thing maybe squeeze in playoffs. Jones I was using at 1B but Votto is healthy putting up good power numbers. I have OF depth and young OF depth, so I am dealing from a position of strength. I have been after Fernandez since early this year before he was a top 100 prospect. I really like his upside. Goodman is an interesting piece with power and I like taking a chance on him in Colorado.

Not sure I like a 1st place team trading away a piece that can help them win for a couple prospects 1-2 years away. Add in Jones is cost controlled for the next 5 years, hitting well in Colorado, and was an equal or better prospect than both Fernandez/Goodman - and I'm really struggling to see the logic behind this one.
Being that I'm in a playoff race with the Rockies, I'm going to recuse myself from the voting here. If I were to vote, I would lean towards a veto.

I think what Padres says is fair. Jones has been playing great so far. In fact, I even asked about him in prior talks with CLE. I do think highly of him. Plus getting to hit in Coors!
These 2 specs are pretty raw. But both are quality. Fernandez is the Rockies #3 spec. He’s gone from A, to A+, to AA this season. He could very well be on track to be in the majors late next season. Goodman is their 13 ranked spec. 36HR last year and 25 so far this season. He does K at too high a clip, but if he gets his eye under control then watch out.
In the end I think there’s enough quality here to approve the trade.
