4 years @ 6.5M
Coming off an effective 25 Start Season 16-6 2.41 ERA 1.079 WHIP
He turns 31 today and has only surpassed 200 innings twice in his career and SO/9 decreased to 5.4 last season. He has had zero all-star appearances (according to baseball-reference)

This one's borderline, but I think its just a little low IMO. Even if his SO/9 stay that low, his NL-loving ratios and wins are still there. I think considering Samardzija's new contract, I'd value Fister around $7.5m for 4 years.

Denied 0-3
Trust me, I hate denying these. Also, pardon my slowness on voting. I really couldn't find a decent "comp" on the list of already re-signed players that have a contract in this range. The closest thing I could find in the 2-1 pending vote on Gio Gonzalez. He is currently being offered 5 years @ $7M= $35M, after having been denied at 5 years @ $6.5M = 32.5M.
Their stats are:
fister 31 career innings 982.2 career - 60-56 3.34era 1.191whip 669k (6.1 k9) 2013 - det - 14-9 3.67era 1.308whip 159k (6.9 k9) 2014 -was - 16-6 2.41era 1.079whip 98k (5.4 k9)
gonzalez 29 career innings 1089.0 career - 80-58 3.59era 1.299whip 1072k (8.9 k9) 2013 - was- 11-8 3.36era 1.252whip 192k (8.8 k9) 2014 - was- 10-10 3.57era 1.197whip 162k (9.2 k9)
Many ways to look at that. Gonzalez definitely win K's. Fister has the ERA and WHIP advantage. Fister also has the Win advantage over the last 2 years but that's so uncontrollable. I just see Fister's and Gonzalez's value about equal at the present time, but in different ways. I've also seen in the past here that the shorter 3 year contracts usually get a higher annual salary versus the 5 year ones.
With all of that being said, I'd be ok approving a 3 year 7.5M contract. Fister may indeed be worth more or warrant more years but I can see your point about the low K rate being a cause for concern.
