SP Carlos Carrasco $21,000,000 (2022) SP Steven Brault $300,000 (2022) RP Jeff Hoffman $300,000 (2022) 1B Brandon Belt $6,500,000 (2021)((ReSign))
Giants Send
OF Taylor Trammell (SEA) - prospect OF Kameron Misner (MIA) - prospect 1B Bobby Bradley (CLE) - $300,000 (20XX)
Orioles accept.
I have several pitchers in my minors who are ready for promotion and to take roles on my staff. With them coming up, guys like Brault and Carrasco became a bit more expendable. This deal also helps me open up some cap space to help address some hitting needs on my roster.
While Trammell's stock has definitely dropped a bit lately, he's still a prospect that I like a whole lot. I want to believe that the power will come and even if it doesn't he should be a stolen base threat moving forward. Misner has just stupid power and he'll be a lot of fun to watch develop in my system. Chances are that Bradley won't ever amount to anything in the bigs, but he's a cheap bat that I can slot in at 1B and see if he can figure things out.
Thanks for the deal Giants! I hope essentially half my rotation helps with your playoff push!

Giants accept:
This was about utilizing some surplus minor league talent at OF and 1B, which worked out well because Baltimore was looking to boost those positions. I hate losing Misner to be honest, like James said, it's hard not to like his profile, so I'm going to have no fun watching him develop. Either way I felt I had enough OF value in the minors that I that I could justify moving these guys. Bradley is a wild card, so who knows.
I like Cookie, I like Cookie a lot in New York, and think he'll be productive for the next few years, and could possibly be an old man re-sign option. I didn't really put any positive stock in Brault's 2020, he still walks too many guys that was helped out by usage, but he's a body who will get starts. Belt gives me flexibility and more stability for my UT and as a back up 1B and can hopefully bridge the gap to Vaughn. Hoffman is just a flyer from a homer perspective, Boddy and crew went out and got him, made sense for me to take a shot.
Thanks for the deal O's, I hope the reload works out for you, and quick negotiations

I’m totally fine with this. It’s a ton of cap to take on, but I trust what SF I’d doing. That team was trash when he took them over and they have really surprised me in their building. Carrasco is going to be a top end starter for NY who gets a LOT of Ks. Belt had a career year last season (for a short year) and maybe he’s finally playing to his potential.
Misner I’d already 23 and not sure if slot him in as a top prospect. He’s good, but not elite. Trammell is likely going to get some very nice mlb run, but Carrasco and Belt could push SF into real contention. I think the prospects are a fair price to pay. And the dollars are irrelevant as long as they can afford it. FA pitching is ultra expensive here.

I prefer the prospect side on this one, but I see the value on the Cookie side.

Orioles Send:
SP Carlos Carrasco (NYM) - #2 SP NYM (FG) SP Steven Brault (PIT) - #2 SP PIT (FG) RP Jeff Hoffman (CIN) - Midde Reliever 1B Brandon Belt (SF) - Hit 5th, platoon with Ruf
Giants Send
OF Taylor Trammell (SEA) - #61 overall (FG - 2020), #51 overall (MLB - 2020), #4 (SEA - FG - 2020); 50 Grade
OF Kameron Misner (MIA) - #13 MIA (FG - 2020); #14 MIA (MLB)
1B Bobby Bradley (CLE) - #34 CLE (FG - 2020), #37 CLE (FG - 2021)
Would I make this deal personally? Probably not. But I don't really want to pay a pitcher $21 mil. But Carrasco was pretty good last year for the Indians. He moves to the NL East this year with Mets after spending his whole career with the Indians. Brault should maintain a spot in the rebuilding Pirates rotation. Cheap SP are sometimes hard to find. Jeff Hoffman is a former #9 overall pick who has yet to put it all together in any role at the ML level. Maybe a move out of Coors will help him.
The 3 prospects are just that prospects. Trammell was originally drafted by the Padres then went to the Reds and is now a Mariner. While his value might be down some he is still a Top 100 Prospect (maybe even a little higher in the 60-75 range). Its hard to really judge Misner with there being no 2020 Minor League season. But if you look at Marlins rankings he is generally the 4th ranked OFer for them but with plenty of upside himself. Bobby Bradley is still just 24 and there is an opening at 1B in Cleveland maybe him and Jake Bauers can battle it out for the 1B gig.
While this deal might be borderline I think its close enough to improve as I don't think the value is so off to warrant a veto.
APPROVAL #3
